A Conversation With God (III)

God: Listen son… It doesn’t work that way. It’s your actions in life more than these rituals that impress me. Son, listen…

He doesn’t listen anyways and hangs up and then does all that he wanted to. After some more time…

Man: God, are you there? See, even I got my promotion. Did you see my new sedan? Well, actually thanks for all that.

God: Well I still suggest you to handover your life’s control to me. You will fall into a lot of trouble going forward, the way you are living your life.

Man: Oh c’mon god. I am doing it too well. I am managing my life perfectly. Thanks.

God: Can’t you see the stress and its effect on your health and relationships. You are never contented and at peace of mind. You are my best creation. You must live stress free, relaxed and happy. Your life should be like a long holiday. Where is all that in your life?

Man: God, don’t you know? Stress and pressure are so important for growth in life. And contentment? How can one be contented? That’s the virtue of the stagnant ones.

God: Well my child, see how foolish your thought process has become, thanks to the emphasis on ‘over education’ in your society rather than focusing on practical aspects of life. All these survival issues in your minds have given rise to so much unhealthy competition in your world. Why do you forget that once you surrender your life to me, your survival is automatically ensured? You don’t have to stress yourself or do unethical stuff to survive. I have been telling you time and again that life is much larger a concept that what you can see it to be. And so you can’t manage it alone. You do your best possible, that is all you have access to, results will be taken care of by me. The scheme of things are much larger from your human life point of view my dear.

Man: (Forget it)…Yeah I understand umm…God. Thanks. Bye….

God: Ha Ha…well…it is useless to explain him. Doesn’t matter. Let him fall a few times. He will learn in the process. I am there to take care of him anyways. When he would have suffered enough, he will realize that life is not supposed to be about stress and pressure and unethical means of living. It is about being at ease with self and others. Life is about being happy and relaxed. Like a long holiday. He will someday realize that his divine father is always there to take care of the expenses of this holiday. All he has to do is understand that life is a mix of happy and unhappy moments and accept that part of life.

Hope he gets this, until that time, let him learn!

Well, I will end this conversation here itself because I guess it has served its purpose. I have made a humble attempt to emphasise that life is not about stress regarding survival. All we need to have is supreme trust in the one who has made us, and who we are ourselves, in the real sense. I have made an attempt to help imagine once that when god himself operates through our mind, body and soul, as ourselves, how beautiful life can be!

That’s the life I consider as relaxed and full, like a holiday. We are indeed on a free holiday trip in this world and our only purpose is to realise this fact and the fact about our true nature. But we start worrying about who will pay the bills of this grand holiday. We must have faith that the bills are paid off, we are on a fully paid holiday, and so we must enjoy every moment of that!!

The Only Reason for Unhappiness in Life is the Desire That
There Should Not be Unhappiness in My Life !

Having said that, I completely understand that its impossible to surrender your entire life just after reading such spiritual material. But atleast we can introspect on the same and try to take one step forward. And once we do that, we will know that all the other steps to come closer to us will be taken by god himself. He is just waiting for us to start. Alertness to the patterns in life gives us a strong clue and as we observe our lives and those around us we see through these patterns that there is something larger than just our personal selfish life and that is where the seed of unconditional surrender starts to germinate within us !

God is himself more eager than us to make us free of all this miserable life that we have made out of our thoughts. When he sees us taking stress as an important part of our life, even he feels sad. But he is helpless. Till we don’t look towards him, he can’t send us his grace. Its like until the field umpire doesn’t connect with the third umpire there is no direct intervention that can come from the top. Open the doors for life to take over, but for that the condition is – ‘unconditional’ samarpan !
