A Conversation With God !

Man: Hello, is this God?

God: Yes my son, how are you?

Man: I am fine God, thanks. God, I have a few questions.

God: Tell me…

Man: God, Who am I? Why am I born?

God: Well son, you and me are the same. You are a unit of my own self and it is me who is operating through your body at a unit level. In your world you call this as atma and parmatma.

Man: God can you please elaborate? Please don’t mind but I have never understood these statements and they look very philosophical and far from reality actually.

God: You are free to express yourself to me son, I never mind ! To understand what I said, you will have to understand what life is. Well frankly, life is basically an illusion brought in your mind as a story, as you guys say – sab moh maya hai, even though it looks very real to you. It is the way I exist in a human body and pass through a particular time period just like electricity passes through various electronic instruments. Just like electricity is the same irrespective of the instrument similarly I am also the same among all entities that you see in this drama called life.

You (or me,whatever you please to say) are the one who operates through this body and author this very story called life. But as an evolutionary process you had to forget your real identity and become a part of this drama and know yourself as this name and the associated life story and get attached to it.

Man: But why is life there? What is its purpose?

God: Son, the purpose of life is for us to evolve. We go through this drama of pleasure and suffering and in the process become more intelligent. The fact that you forget yourself is also planned so that you can totally get immersed in this drama and learn. And then the reverse process of your realising your divine identity and the related powers is also a part of this very drama. And now in this stage of the drama the time has come for you to know your real self and hence you are asking these questions.

Man: Well all this is bouncing over my head. You just tell me how am I supposed to live life? How am I supposed to handle it in the best way so that I can live with a lot of material happiness?

God: Well, you don’t worry about anything. You don’t have to do anything. I am taking care of everything around you. You are on earth on a fully paid holiday. The time has come that you nurture your inquisitiveness that has made you come to this point that you want to know the scheme of things in the way life works and your place in the situation. I will keep guiding you as long as your efforts are sincere.

But to understand this statement you have to understand what life is. Well frankly, life is basically an illusion brought in your mind as a story. It’s the way I exist in a human body and pass through a particular time period. But as an evolutionary process you have forgotten your real identity and become a part of this drama and know yourself as this name and the associated life story.

Man: Oh! This seems too story type, like a fairy tale and too boring as well. What about my daily bread and other material needs, my health as well as my relationships with people??

God: Well I told you, I am taking care of it. You don’t bother about that. In your society you call it bhakti bhav. To stress out to manage this life in not how you should look at life. If you look deeply, you will realise that you are also not adequately equipped to manage your life. Can you ever know what the next moment has in store for you? You can only predict to the best of your current knowledge and act accordingly. You must focus on work and do it to the best of your abilities. That is in your hands.

There is a larger picture to your life than just you. I can see it better from here and so can manage it better as well. So don’t worry. Just surrender yourself to me and trust me because I will never intend to harm my project called life. Enjoy this life as an all expenses paid holiday and chill!

Man: But it is very difficult to live with such faith, it rather looks superstitious to have such a thought process in life.

God: Yes I understand.

Remember that the only reason for your unhappiness in life is the desire that there should not be unhappiness in my life

That’s a very foolish way of thinking !! Life is full of pleasure and pain. Only when we don’t accept this, we feel emotional difficulty, which you fellows call stress, and then complain. With the introspective and contemplative mind I have given only to your species, your purpose is to comprehend and assimilate this fact as a sustainable antidote to stress.

Man: Oh no! I can’t accept that. You mean I should just sit idle and may be keep meditating and not live in this world and not enjoy all the material pleasures?

God: You are getting me wrong. Rather, I want you to have all the material pleasures of the world and have an abundant life. You are my best creation and you deserve to have the best of the world which you are born in. All I am saying is leave all that to me. You just work what you like to and do not force yourself into something you do not like and create negativity in your life. Also abstain strictly from unethical attractions to earn your daily bread. Just surrender all your worries to me and live carefree. You are my child. How can I let anything wrong happen to you? Have that unshakable trust on my wisdom and do not burden yourself unnecessarily with the heaviness of managing your life.

Man: I will take care of my life on my own. I want to be on the driver’s seat and want control on what happens to me. What about the money I might need tomorrow to pay for my daily needs, what about my dream car that I need, what about the big house I want to live in and what about any unforeseen expenses? Well, I respect you for being my father but I would like to take care of all that and my health and other needs on my own. Thanks.

God: Well, if that’s what you want to do then go ahead. But ensure you don’t loose your connection with me. Also ensure that you do not forget your purpose of realizing your true nature and the immense powers you get access to, to create your life ‘consciously’, once you realise that. And I don’t need to mention that in case you fall into any problem, you can always come back to me. Go and explore and experiment with life if you want to. All the best!

Man: Yeah, yeah, ok, ok. Thanks.

Some time later the man felt the need to reconnect with God…

Man: Hello, God are you there?

God: Yes my son, I am always there whenever you call me.

Man: What the hell this life thing is? Its so difficult. It always keeps me on my toes. I slog throughout the day, still hardly earn enough to be satisfied. My neighbour is better off……
